About This Opportunity


Provide crucial guidance and support for Target by utilizing your labor law expertise to develop and drive the company’s proactive and reactive labor relations strategies. Use your knowledge and experience with organizing trends, changing NLRB case law, and labor law developments at the federal appeals court level in order to assist and direct our business, and interpret the laws that govern Target stores, Distribution Centers and corporate locations.

Use your skills, experience and talents to be a part of groundbreaking thinking and visionary goals. As a Labor Relations Attorney, you’ll take the lead as you?

- Identify external trends in labor law and work with management on solutions and strategies to protect the organization.

- Serve as a consultant to the organization concerning labor law, labor strategies and policy interpretation.

- Conduct location visits, for pro-active maintenance and trouble-shooting, including campaign management. Assisting in developing, implementing and delivering proactive labor relations training programs as needed.

- Investigate and documenting facts surrounding legal and/or administrative charges or potential charges before the National Labor Relations Board. Managing any related litigation and outside counsel as necessary.

- Develop policy and procedure to ensure the company’s labor relations standards are understood across the organization. Interpreting those policies and serving as a resource/consultant to ensure consistent administration.

- Review and approving Human Resources internal communications/training to ensure legal compliance in an effort to minimize legal risk.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school

• Prior experience with the NLRB, including election and charge experience - R case experience

• 5 – 7 years labor relations experience

• Strong employment/labor law understanding

• High degree of analytical skill, including ability to analyze and understand legal, financial and practical impact of decisions

• Ability to resolve issues in difficult situations while maintaining strong working relationships.

• Admitted or eligible for MN State Bar
